Eriksen wants answers over Manchester United bid

Christian Eriksen will speak with officials at Ajax this week to find out where he stands at the club as he attempts to engineer a move to Manchester United.
Ajax are understood to have opened talks with two clubs, one of which is believed to be Zenit St Petersburg, and Eriksen wants to know if Manchester United have also made their interest known.
The Danish international is valued at £20million and Manchester United have been looking at Eriksen for the past year. The player wants to leave Amsterdam for Old Trafford and last summer rejected a move to Manchester City as his dream is to play at either United or Barcelona.
In December Manchester United first team coach Rene Meulensteen said: "This is a player that is on our radar.
"But that is to be expected. If people weren't looking, no-one would ever have an opinion on these players.
"It is true that a player like Eriksen would fit our transfer policy. He is being strongly linked with us, but to suggest that we are about to make a move is not true."
With Ajax now prepared to let the 20-year old leave the club, they have already signed Adam Maher from AZ Alkmaar to replace Eriksen, and Manchester United are prepared to make their move.
The playmaker has made 26 appearances for his country and helped Ajax to two successive Eredivisie titles, picking up a number of individual awards along the way. He impressed Alex Fergusson after an inspiring display for Ajax against Manchester United in the Europa League.
Eriksen will speak to the club’s new director of football, Marc Overmars, to find out if Manchester United have formally expressed their interest in him and hopes to make his dream move to Old Trafford this summer.
