Ajax already looking for replacement as Eriksen talks with Manchester United

In a link which is fresh during this transfer window, Dutch press are claiming Manchester United are in talks with Christian Eriksen and that Ajax are already looking for a replacement for the player
The Premier League team have been linked with Eriksen in the past, as have most big clubs, but there hasn't been anything recently and certainly not anything as concrete as talks. Sport 1 say that the Danish youngster is currently negotiating a transfer to the Manchester club and that Dutch side Ajax have turned their attentions to AZ's Adam Maher as they plan for a future without him.
Pretty strong stuff, it's also covered by Voetbal Centraal in Holland and a couple of other outlets but we'd assume that was just following on from the Sport 1 reports. If Ajax are already looking at bringing in a replacement then you'd assume they feel a deal is likely to be done.
Should the reports that Manchester United are negotiating for Christian Eriksen be true then a move for him will have gone way under the radar of much of the British press, and interest in other players could have been a distracting tactic, something Sir Alex Ferguson has been accused of in the past.
Eriksen didn't have a good Euro 2012 with Denmark but just as players shouldn't be bought solely based on international tournaments, their talent shouldn't be dismissed based on that either. The Dane currently has two years left on his Ajax contract and the club won't want a situation similar to the one they've had this summer with Jan Vertonghen.
The former club captain was able to leave at less than market value as he'd made it clear that if he didn't get his way he would see out his final year and then leave for free.
An interesting one this and makes a level of sense on all sides, the only surprise is that it's not been mentioned much in the media so could simply be one lone outlet getting it wrong...
