Manchester United Transfer News: United to Fight Inter Milan for Lucas Moura

Every passing day seemingly brings a new development or twist in the race for Brazilian teenage wonderkid Lucas Moura. The latest reports suggest that Inter Milan are close to signing the Manchester United target.

United have been the front-runners for Lucas for several weeks now, but have been unable to agree to a deal with the player, compounded by the fact the 19-year-old left Brazil to go and play for his country at the 2012 London Olympics.

It seems now that Italian club Inter Milan is re-entering the race to sign Lucas, with club president Massimo Moratti stating that there is a strong possibility that the attacking midfielder could be on his way to Italy next season and not England......
Massimo Moratti, the president of Inter Milan, has not given up hope of signing Lucas Moura, despite the Brazilian looking likely to leave Sao Paulo for Manchester United.

Moratti insists that there is still a chance that Lucas could be on his way to Italy but stressed he will not allow Sao Paulo to dictate the terms of the transfer and will not be forced into paying an outrageous fee.

When asked about the likelihood of signing Lucas, Moratti replied: 'Lucas? As you know we are strongly interested in him, but our interest does not compel us to accept every type of condition imposed
